Carl Stotter's Narrow Escape
In May 1982, 21-year-old Carl Stotter became one of Nilsen's few survivors after being drugged, strangled, and nearly drowned in Nilsen's bathtub. When Carl regained consciousness on the couch with Nilsen's dog licking his face, Dennis claimed he had been trying to resuscitate him after an accident with a sleeping bag. The terrifying ordeal left Carl with burst blood vessels and deep marks around his neck.
